When the weather’s cold outside, it’s time to pop the kettle on and curl up on the sofa with a comforting cake. So I will share my favorite chocolate cake recipe So you too can indulge.
RECIPE:
Preparation time: (15 minutes or less)
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line with parchment paper, then butter and flour the pans.
2. Cream the following;
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup sieve cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
3. Pour over creamed mixture 1 cup boiling water. Stir until all is melted.
4. Add 1/2 cup soured milk ( or use 1/2 lemon, juiced into 1 cup milk to substitute the 1 cup soured milk)
5. Add two eggs, one at a time.
6. Combine and add in two portions to batter:
2 cups + 2 tablespoons flour. Sift before measuring!
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoon soda
7. Blend well and pour into greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. This is not a moist cake. Test with a toothpick until it almost comes clean.
8. Cool, frost and serve.
