A Prayer For God's Strongest

During any crisis, you may hear the phrase, “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.” I'm one of those strong soldiers in 2024, as I mentioned in the previous post. Two months into 2024 and I have cried just as much as I have been on my knees in prayer. That's a lot! I have ever begged more in my life.

In today's post, I wanted to share my favorite prayer with anyone that is also going through a difficult season of their life.

As we navigate through adversity, it can be hard to understand why God would allow us to face tough challenges, especially when we already feel like we are at our limits, and that's why we should have a go-to prayer. Something to recite when your heart is too heavy, and your vision too blurry from all the crying.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We invite you into our life today and make ourselves available to you.

Help us to become the-best-version-of-ourselves by seeking your will and becoming a living example of your love in the world.

Open our heart to the areas of our life that need to change in order for us to carry out your purpose and experience the joy You have imagined for our life.

Open our heart and mind and allow us to see the beauty of our faith and show us what is possible. Fill us with the grace, strength, and wisdom.

Give us the courage to defend and celebrate this true self in every moment of our days.

Inspire us to live in faith in ways that are dynamic and engaging. Show us how to best get involved in the life of those around us.

Make our community hungry for best practices and continuous learning. Give us courage when we are afraid, hope when we are discouraged, and clarity in times of decision.

Teach us to enjoy uncertainty and lead us to become all you imagined we would be for the people of our times.

We ask you to bless in a special way the hungry, the lonely, the sick, and the discouraged. Remind us of our duty towards them and inspire us to be filled with a profound abundance and gratitude.

I ask all this through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Aside from this prayer, I also refer to the Bible. There are a few verses that come to mind;

  • Psalm 102 - It's a prayer of an afflicted person who has grown weak and pours out a lament before the Lord.

  • 2 Corinthians 12:9—“My grace is all you need, for my power is the greatest when you are weak.”

  • Psalm 73:26—"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

  • Nehemiah 8:10—"Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

  • Psalm 46:5—“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”

  • Philippians 4:13—“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

  • Psalm 68:35—"You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people."

  • Psalm 119:28—"My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word."

  • Jeremiah 32:17—“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”

  • Psalm 59:16—"But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble."

  • Psalm 28:7—"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."

  • Proverbs 31:25—“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”

  • Romans 15:5—“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.”

  • Thessalonians 5:11—“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

  • John 16:33—“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

  • Psalm 121:1-2—“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

  • Romans 5:3-4 that tells us, “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” By embracing the challenges and suffering that God places before us, we can grow stronger in our faith, develop a more resilient spirit, and ultimately become the individuals that He intended us to be.

Good luck and God's speed.
