Amazing Things I Found on The Internet This June

Greetings from wherever you are. Here in Nairobi, I am sitting at my makeshift home office space, cuddled under a blanket.

Today, I am sharing the monthly roundup of amazing things I stumbled upon on the internet over the course of the month of June. From incredible websites, a local business that sell flavourful vegetarian chilli to how you can watch Kenyan films to support local talent.

I hope you find them insightful.

  1. Watch Kenyan movies on YouTube on Tidpix and Lowladee. Check out the famous film 'Plan B' and the successful series 'This is it'. Let's support local content to encourage the development of the skill and capabilities of local films.

  2. Sarah Jakes Roberts! Bishop T.D Jake's daughter is all the motivation you need. She is committed to erasing limits and challenging norms of what it means to be a modern woman of faith. I am inspired by listening to a successful black woman that shares my values.

  3. Sometimes you need something relatable crack you up. And that is @byneka. She may be new to YouTube but she is making big waves with her three vidoes so far. Can't wait to see more.

  4. The local small business I want to put you on to this month is @thegoodchilli They have a wide range of organic delicious vegetarian chilli. My favorite is the sweet chilli because I prefer mild and it's heaven when paired with smashed potatoes.

  5. If you love to take pictures and are always looking for posing tutorials, check out @davidsuh on Tiktok. He is a photographer that demonstrates all kinds of posing ideas to take your social media to a new level.

  6. If you want to plan your Instagram feed and see how it looks before you post try the Preview app or the Later app. You can also edit on the app to ensure the pictures have the same aesthetic.

  7. An instagram page you need to check out is @lets_drift. Get ideas of affordable travel ideas to beautiful local destinations. I get to live vicariously though them from the comfort of my couch.

  8. Start recording your own podcast with just your phone! That's what am doing using Anchor.fm

  9. Elizabeth Gilbert's latest book 'Big Magic' is all the hype. She is the author of 'Eat Pray Love.'

  10. Are you into the vintage aesthetic? Well, I am. And I want to put you on. Check out @hillhousevintage1 on Tiktok. You will fall in love with her content just like I did. She has also written a book titled 'Hill House Living: The art of creating a joyful life'.

I hope you have the week you deserve. Until next time.
